Our (Team Sleepyhead) first attempt at a 48 Hour Film Challenge in Toronto, Ontario during the weekend of Nov. 9-Nov. 11 2012. We had 48 Hours to write, shoot, produce, edit and deliver a completely original script. We competed against 42 other teams for a chance at representing Toronto against 115 cities world-wide and travel to Los Angeles.
We were given the character name (Harrison Coburn), line of dialogue (“What would you like to know”), prop (Scissors) and profession (bartender) to be shared amongst all teams, HOWEVER, our GENRE was randomly picked and we got “COMEDY.”
We won the following….
2 Best Actor Awards
Audience Favorite for Group C
Best Directed Film
Runner-Up Film
We also competed in the “2nd Chance” competition where all Runner-Ups competed for a potential ONE spot to be included in the 1st Placers pool. Alas, we fell short but we were voted into the Top Ten. Not to shabby!
